The town hall is the seat of the Municipality of Ljubljana and the mayor. It was built in the Venetian style in the 15th century. Its architect was Peter Vezaj. It is used for public functions, i.e. exhibitions, festivals or performances and as an official building. As a symbol of local government with its distinctive architecture the building bears considerable historical significance.
